Local author Fred Rydholm spoke to an over capacity crowd at the Traverse Area District Library on March 22, 2007. Fred was invited to speak as part of the library's "live @ the library" series and spoke about his new book Michigan Copper the Untold Story. Fred's talk was well received buy the group who continued to ask the author questions about his new book, U.P. history & the proposed sulfide mining past the regular library hours and even in the parking lot.
Fred was a guest on Ron Jolly's morning talk radio program on WTCM Traverse City Thursday morning. He was able to answer phoned in questions from listeners about U.P. History. Ron Jolly, a fan of Fred Rydholm's books Superior Heartland a Backwoods History, asked Fred about Henry Ford's activities in the U.P.
There seems to be a great interest of the Upper Peninsula in northern Lower Michigan. Fred had a steady crowd of patrons at a book signing in downtown Traverse City at Horizon Books Friday morning. Fred was also interviewed by a Traverse City production company as part of an upcoming documentary on U.P. silver mines.
